Your use of CheckScamNumber is subject to these Terms of Service ("TOS"). We may modify these TOS at any time without notice to you by posting revised TOS. Your use of the website constitutes your binding acceptance of these TOS, including any modifications that we make.
CheckScamNumber helps people in the U.S. check suspicious phone numbers and avoid scams by providing a community-driven database of reported numbers.
Acceptance of Terms
By using CheckScamNumber (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not access or use CheckScamNumber.
Changes to These Terms
CheckScamNumber may update these Terms to reflect changes to our service or the law. When we do, the "Last Updated" date above will change. If you don't agree with the new Terms, you should stop using the service immediately.
Privacy
CheckScamNumber respects your privacy. Read our Privacy Policy to see what we collect, how we use it and your choices regarding your personal information and how we protect it.
Accounts
Some features require an account to be created. You must use accurate information and your password must be kept private and secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
Acceptable Use
To keep community safe and useful, you agree that you will not:
- Post false, defamatory or misleading content
- Harass, threaten or abuse others
- Attempt to access the service or accounts without authorization
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) without permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Violate applicable laws or regulations
Scam Reports
You can share experiences about suspicious numbers. For example: "Caller claimed to be my bank and asked for an OTP." When you submit a report, you will:
- Confirm the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- Understand that your report may be reviewed by the community and our team
- Grant to CheckScamNumber an irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, fully paid, worldwide license to use, copy, perform, display and distribute said Content and to prepare derivative works of, or incorporate into other works, said Content, and to grant and authorize sublicenses of the foregoing
User-contributed content can contain errors. CheckScamNumber does not monitor all content and takes no responsibility for such content posted by users. CheckScamNumber prioritizes specific, evidence-backed reports and CheckScamNumber may hide or remove vague or abusive content.
Use of Data and Attribution
You may cite CheckScamNumber for personal or community use with proper attribution. Don't repurpose our data for commercial services or suggest a partnership without our written permission.
Intellectual Property
Our content, design and software are owned by CheckScamNumber or our licensors. Don't copy or reuse them for commercial purposes without our written consent.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, CheckScamNumber IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOST DATA OR PROFITS) ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE OR THIRD-PARTY CONTENT.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". We aim for reliability and security, but do not guarantee nonstop, error-free or fully secure operation.
Indemnification
You agree to hold harmless and indemnify CheckScamNumber, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents and employees from and against any third-party claim arising from or in any way related to your use of the service, including any liability or expense arising from all claims, losses, damages (actual and consequential), suits, judgments, litigation costs and attorneys' fees, of every kind and nature.
Termination
CheckScamNumber reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access at any time without notice if we detect violations or risks to our systems or community. Some data may be kept as required by law.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by U.S. law and, where applicable, California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles or the United Nations Convention on the International Sale of Goods.
Dispute Resolution
We prefer to resolve issues informally. If we can't, disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
Severability
If any part of these Terms is invalid, the rest still apply.
